INAUGURATION Day!

It's been over a week since I've posted a Blog entry, and I've missed my blogging!

Since my last post, I've been keeping busy with my cardmaking and various other tasks (read: "life"!) that demanded my attention, all the while obsessing about topics for future Blog posts! And indeed, I have a couple of ideas in mind for upcoming Blog articles.

But right now, what I'm most excited about is January 20th, INAUGURATION Day!

In all my adult life, I've never been much of a "political" person. REALLY. Now don't get me wrong. . . . .I've taken my right and my responsibility to vote quite seriously, and as nearly as I can recall, I've voted in every general election since I turned voting age (and that was MANY years ago!)

But I've never been registered with either major political party, I've never been a "dyed-in-the-wool" Republican or Democrat, I haven't actively campaigned for any candidate, nor have I "marched" for any particular cause.

Yet, this last presidential election has energized me, moved me, touched me, like no other ever has.

And like so many other fellow Americans, I am SO excited and SO hopeful that our new President and his administration can bring positive change once again to the United States of America.

I wish I could be in attendance at the actual Inauguration Ceremony to witness President-Elect Obama getting sworn into office, but since that's not possible, watching it on TV will have to suffice!

And I know I'm going to be glued to the TV to catch everything I can!

I feel so privileged to be living in a time when this exciting and momentous election has taken place. This is a time that I know for sure, "history is being made."

Until we meet again. . . . .May you, too, recognize and enjoy watching history in the making.

Today IS history! It's very exciting. I wish I hadn't scheduled this meeting I had for today, so I could have watched the inauguration live. :)

I truly understand everyone’s excitement but at the same time I am scared. We have had 8 years of no threats on US soil while many other countries have had acts of terr attacks on them. I am also scared because as a small business owner of 30 years can we make it through the next 8 years? I know there was a day when a new guy would be elected in and someone new will tack the office but it’s always scary he as one man can’t change my life. I defiantly respect him and the office just I want to see how it goes before I get to excited.

I do have to agree with "BeccaRoo". I have felt safe for the past 7+ years. President Bush was dealt a rough hand from almost the get-go. I believe he did the best he could, with the knowledge he had. I do hope and pray that President Obama will be able to lead our country with honor and dignity. It was definitely an historic day today.!

It's just what we needed. We do not often get that from politics.

Hi. I can identify with not being very political and yet trying to be a responsible citizen. About Obama, though I am not an American, I am a Filipino, I have eagerly followed Obama since the phase on party nominations. Having said, I must say that my husband's zeal for Obama far surpasses mine! We both are so so glad that Obama got elected and are hopeful for some significant changes during his term. Oh sure he'll make some mistakes, but who doesn't. At least he does not look like the kind who'd invade a country when there's no evidence for doing so.
