Thanks so much, Everyone! I really appreciate your comments.
These photos were taken a couple of weeks ago when my husband and I went back to Kansas to visit family, and we took a drive one morning out to enjoy the local countryside.
Unfortunately, a storm was quickly approaching, and we had to hurry back to town, because we didn't want to get stuck on a muddy unpaved road! :)
Ah yes, now it's looking like home! This is pretty much my view every day. I appreciate what you said in the last post, about viewing Kansas differently since you left.
Since I'm NEW here, only a little over a year, I'm still excited to be here. I feel like I'm living in the Old West. As I drove through the Flint Hills to Ohio a month ago, I vowed to come back and spend a few hours there, getting photographs. I've been through there too many times, on my way to or from Ohio, and never stopped. Isn't it the most gorgeous, take-your-breath away area?? And you know what? It's only an hour and a half away!! Maybe next week... esp since hubby will be gone. :-(

It's beautiful country! so serene looking. Happy WW
Lovely pictures of a stormy sky. Nice WW pictures.
Chester ;0=)
Reminds me of home. Thanks!
Nice series -- love the sky.
I love the top shot, it has a wonderful sense of distance
The shots speak of a simple life...taking a ride outside of the city, clean air, farms and lots of space.
Nice shots!

That is some of the most beautiful prairie I have seen in years! Thanks for sharing...
A winning post for WW this week. Give me big sky any day, but especially Wednesday. ;)
I'm such a city girl. I almost never see scenery like this. What a nice photo.
